Croatia Honeymoon – 5 Things You Need to Know
Before we start with our list we need to emphasize one thing – make a plan, but together! Neither Korcula nor any other destination would be good enough if you haven’t make a plan, at least in outline, and if you haven’t make it together. Take time for a bit of research, for some conversation and some negotiation on both sides. To help you in that process we have made a list of five things to know before your Croatia honeymoon.
- Croatia is the place to be and Korčula island is a true honeymooner’s paradise
Croatia offers many types of holiday, but there is something here for everyone. You can enjoy summertime, a total relaxation on beautiful beaches and peaceful bays. In Croatia you can explore both outstanding nature and architectural masterpieces in several cities. We could write about Croatia and its beauties for days, but this time we will emphasize the island of Korcula.
Here are just a few interesting facts in answer to the question ‘why Korcula?’
Korcula is the sixth largest island in Croatia situated in the southern part of the Dalmatian islands
It had an important defending role in history
Korcula is the birthplace of Marko Polo
One of the most famous “symbols” of Korcula is the famous Moreska sword dance
There are more than 50 beaches on Korcula island
Korcula is home to two authentic white wine varieties – Posip and Grk
- The type of accommodation for your stay on your Croatian honeymoon:
When you are sure about location, start thinking about your accommodation. Remember, a honeymoon is once in a lifetime (or it should be!) so you deserve a perfect place where you can have time on your own, but still all facilities to enjoy to the maximum. Think about boutique-style villas. Our villas are situated in the small village of Lumbarda. For a Tailor Made Signature Holiday package stay you can choose one of our Three Boutique style Villas: Korcula island Pearl, with two spacious 100 m² suites for up to 4 adult person each and a spacious outdoor pool; Korcula Island Sunrise – a specially designed family Villa for family of 4 adults and 4 kids; Captain’s Villa with 3 spacious specially designed suites.
- You can visit some of the 1,244 Croatian islands and some of the most beautiful Croatia cities.
Ok, we know you don’t have time to research all Croatian islands so we have made a package that includes Mljet, Hvar, Vis islands and the Peljesac peninsula. As cream on the top, you can visit Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic.
- You can enjoy some of the most beautiful natural wonders.
Each of those islands is in a league of its own. On Mljet is a National Park. Lastovo island, as one of Croatia’s most isolated islands, makes the perfect escape. Stinava beaches, the Blue cave and the Green cave are diamonds of Vis. Hvar is very trendy, but also renowned for its tantalising natural beauty, encompassing sweeping vineyards, rugged mountains and picture-perfect beaches nestled in hidden coves.
- Great food is an important part of your Croatia honeymoon
On Korcula island, we believe that eating well is just one of the most important things. Once you’ve tried the wonderfully fresh, mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine for yourself, don’t blame us! As part of our Honeymoon Rhapsody package, you’ll enjoy a full breakfast and al fresco lunch on each day of your stay, along with one five-course farewell dinner.
Evening meals are not included, but on most nights we do provide free transport into Korcula’s Old Town and to a number of the island’s very best restaurants. Don’t forget that the island is also famous for its wines, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sample some of the most renowned local varieties.
For us booking a memorable honeymoon means booking a Croatian honeymoon.
