Trogir

The medieval town of Trogir is situated on a small island connected to the mainland with a bridge. While walking along the streets of Trogir, you can admire preserved Kamerlengo castle and tower, as well as a series of residences and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. The medieval town of Trogir is situated on a tiny Čiovo island connected to the mainland by a bridge. The heritage and culture of this beautiful Dalmatian town are strongly influenced by the ancient Romans, Venetians, and Greeks. In recognition of its unique charm and historical value, Trogir gained UNESCO World Heritage site status in 1979. Walking along the cobblestone streets of Trogir, it’s easy to find instantly exciting places. Old-fashioned street lights are still featured in many of the streets of the town’s maze-like center and are adding a touch of romantic atmosphere to the city.

Trogir is surrounded by protective walls and is home to the well preserved Kamerlengo Castle and tower, together with plenty of elegant Romanesque, Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque buildings and palaces to admire. Trogir’s’ historic Romanesque-Gothic complex is considered to be one of the most excellent examples in Central Europe. While exploring the Old Town visit St Lawrence’s Cathedral, although built-in 1250, it wasn’t until the 16th century that the Cathedral’s bell tower was fully completed. By climbing to the top of the bell tower, you can enjoy the breathtaking views.

It’s easy to enjoy an extended exploration of the area by foot since Trogir is connected to Čiovo island by a bridge. Look for a secluded bay or untouched beach and relax by the sea. The picturesque deserted lagoons of the Pakleni Islands can be reached via boat. Back in Trogir, you can take a tour around the historic harbor and enjoy fabulous views across the seaside promenade. Relax and enjoy a drink or dinner in an elegant café or restaurant and admire the expensive yachts as they sail by.
